Don't terrorists usually come from places that have strong ideologies like firm beliefs in gods?

Atheists like to use the Christian crusades example and the fact that the overwhelming majority of the American prison populace is 'Christian' even though the Bible did not sustain them in their (murderer's) actions. And then when we tell them about Pol Pot, Stalin, Zedong, Dahmer, and other infamous atheist murderers they accuse us of using straw-mans and no true Scotsman fallacies.
