Why do people doubt women can't be president?

I've been hearing from some people that women are too weak or not " smart " enough to be president, and I think Hilary Clinton was running for preisdent sometime ago but yet people didn't want to vote for her thinking she was too weak. I want to know opinions from other people if they think women can run for president in America ( lets make it reasonable opinions and not rude please ). Thanks!
